See.I have worked with many departments till now.And I can tell you that they will take the least mark of your grade,sum the entire marks and provide a general merit list.And there is a huge disadvantage for the states which have grading system as they will lag behind other state students who are having marks and cbse percentage students do have priority on top for the difficulty of their papers.So do not have hope fully on this and better save ur parents money and try to get a good rank in other exams.
