With a score of 501, you have chances of procuring a seat in the government medical colleges when comparing the results of previous years. Last year, a minimum score of 479 was required to fetch one a seat in the Maldah medical college in obc category under the state quota. But, one thing to keep in mind is that scores and ranks vary each year with difficulty level of the question paper and availability of seats. As you mentioned with OBC category and 501 marks, your chances of getting a decent government college in your state through state quota(85%) are quite high as cut offs are usually 480-520.
As the admission to medical colleges based on NEET is given unsed All India Quota(15%) and state quota(85%).
