With 74percentile in mains chances of getting admission in NIT and gifts is low. You need to score 95 percentile above for getting admission in NIT. For branches like cse, ece and all 98+ percentile are needed. Now coming to iit, as you are eligible for writing jee advanced  by improving your score in jee advanced you can get admission in IIT.  Now with above percentile you have a good chance of getting admission in private engineering colleges.
