UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam) is an exam for candidates seeking admission to various professional courses offered at UG and PG level at all the UPSEE colleges. Through UPSEE, candidates can secure admission in about 841 colleges affiliated to AKT along with other universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The eligibility criteria to get admission for UPSEE are:

• Candidates should have cleared their class 12th from any UP board or any other recognized board/university with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the required three subjects.
• Candidates must have Physics and Mathematics among the combination of three subjects; the candidate should have in class 12 along with Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or Technical Vocational as an optional subject.

Now, since we know according to the UGC and AICTE rules, a polytechnic student can get admission to the second year of degree engineering based on their performance in Diploma Engineering (Polytechnic). Hence, you can apply for admission to second year through lateral entry of B.Tech programs.  You must have scored minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in their qualifying exam and the college/institution must be either located in UP or affiliated to the Board of Technical Education.
