Considering it to be general, with a rank of 18,282 it becomes difficult to secure a seat in the government IHM's when comparing the results of previous years. Last year, the closing ranks for central government IHM's were around 6,000 And state government IHM's were around 13,000 in general category in the first round. If possible, you can get in the second or final round. But you can get in private colleges in you apply for one. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that scores and ranks vary each year with difficulty level of the question paper and availability of seats.
