Yes, you have to show the Present year's EWS certificate as you have joined Phd admission in the 2022 year. So , a new, fresh and valid EWS certificate will be required in order to get Phd Admission in JRF.

So,m to avail the Scholarship too, you have to give a proof of your EWS certificate which must be issued on or after 1st April, 2022. The EWS certificate is issued for every financial year. In case if you don't have it or if it expires and you are facing delay in getting it then you can use an acknowledgment receipt or an affidavit.

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you as you took admissions in year 2022 so you are required to provide E.W.S certificate of the year 2022 and of after 1 April at the time of admissions or counselling process submitting E.W.S certificate before will not be considered as they ask current category certificate at the time of verification.
