Hello aspirant

If tou have completed your schooling and class xii then you must have domicile of Gujarat and sc certificate from Gujarat.  Your form in neet may be rejected due to this reason.

To take benefits of Sc categryou must have Sc certificate of that particular state.

Now you belong to Uttar pradesh but you have completed your studies in Gujarat so you kust have applied for Gujarat domicile .

Eligibility for state domicile ( you are consists resident of that state if) is that you or one of your parents must have lived in that particular state for more than 10 years .

One person can't have domicile and sc certificate from two states .

You may contact government officials( Ration office )  for your problems . They will solve your issue .

I have previously given NET JRF in June 2023 under EWS category and qualified both. But I do not have EWS certificate. Nor can I avail it anymore as I have crossed the EWS slab. If I apply for PhD in General category, will my Net certificate under EWS category be valid or not?

Nitin Kumar 21st May, 2024

Your UGC NET JRF certificate under the EWS category should still be valid for applying to PhD programs in the General category, even though you cannot obtain a new EWS certificate due to exceeding the income slab.

The primary purpose of the NET JRF exam is to assess your eligibility for research fellowship and assistant professorship. The category under which you appeared (EWS) should not affect the validity of your qualification itself.

The UGC NET JRF certificate issued by the NTA recognizes you as having qualified for the exam. This qualification is independent of the EWS category you used during application.

hlo sir/ mam..i want do phd in history i cleared my net jrf ,so please inform me whats the process of admission in phd..??

Jaspreet Singh Bhatiya 16th Dec, 2023

Hello Meenakshi,

Following is the guideline given by UGC in their official notice for procedure of admission -

Interview/viva-voce must be organized by the concerned University/College where candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Departmental Research Committee. Selection of qualified candidates should be based on interview/viva-voce for JRF/NET. The merit list of both will be published separately.

The interview/viva-voce must also consider the following aspects, such as whether:

• the candidate is qualified for the proposed research;

• the research work can be conveniently carried out in an institution/college;

• the research topic is relevant
