see to get  permanent registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC) you need to appear in fmge exam, however Candidates with a postgraduate medical degree obtained in the countries of Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand and the United States of America need not appear in FMGE  screening test as they can directly register with MCI/SMC as per the last year notifications.
