You can take a partial drop in NIT or IIT, but you must clearly explain your health and circumstances, and you may need to present supporting documentation. Because of a guideline that states that you cannot take your semester examination without having a sufficient attendance percentage in IIT and NIT colleges. The percentage varies based on the branch, the class instructor, and the HOD.
