If you are not eligible to give jee mains, then that doesn't means that you are not eligible to give other state engineering entrance exams.
So, if you are eligible to give mhtcet exam, then yes you can definitely give mhtcet exam. And if you got a good score or rank in that then you can take admission in engineering colleges of maharashtra too even if you are a non maharashtra student.

For giving mhtcet, candidates belonging to general category must have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th.
And candidates who belong to Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) must have scored at least 45% marks. And there is no age limit in mhtcet.
