You are still in your first year and you cannot become an Arnab Goswami or Gulzar saab overnight, Urvashi. You have to give yourself a chance at life and academics more importantly. You enter your 1st year with a clean slate because you are still new to this field. No one enters Journalism because they are good at writing and speaking. That is why you do not see every Journalism student as a Burkha Dutt or an orator on the screen. There are quite a no.of degree holders who work behind the screens and still have a job satisfaction. You will learn the art slowly. No one is a winner over night. It is a process. If I were to suggest you as what you should do, my suggestion would be not to give up just yet. Complete your first year and give it a while. During your summer holidays, take up internships or attend workshops and get a hang of it. By 2nd year, you will be ready and you can then take a call accordingly. Because few years down the lane, you should not have any regrets.

It really depends on you nd your choices. Your course is something which demands good speaking and writing skills. If you are damn sure that you can give the skills which are necessary to continue BA Honours journalism then you can obviously continue it. It is obvious that in the starting you have to work a lot harder and it should keep your confidence high. You can obviously be a best student in the subject.
But if you have a good interest and will to do BSc home science then you should quit now . It is not much late. If you really have a interest to study home science you should choose that. It will be much more difficult for you quit further late.You should think thorughly before you act.Sit alone and ask to your self and your self conscious mind will help you to choose.
