Hello,

According to the norms all government institutions in the country are mandated to provide 15% reservation for scheduled castes, 7.5% for scheduled tribes and 27% for other backward castes (OBCs).

The IITs and IIM do not follow this rule entirely.

Differently abled and students belonging to SC/ST category will get complete fee waiver and the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than .

SC/ST/OBC candidates must generally score within the top 2% of all students to gain admission to the IITs.

And IIT do not have a state quota or whatsoever because the best students qualify for the Institute and not every city has an IIT .

You can apply to NIIT to avail home quota.

Hope this helps!!
