The introduction of more and more MSE departments would entail a demand for highly qualified personnel as research scholars, lecturers and professors. M.Tech degree will definitely help you seek a job at such institutes

In industry-

The field of materials science is ever expanding and the companies dealing with different materials need technical people to cope with the changing landscape. Many startups are also entering the field of Mat Sci so there wont be lack of employment opportunities.
