In VIT Vellore, CSE and ECE are generally considered as good branches. The placements are like any average NIT or rarely it gets better. For CSE you have better chance to develop as you don't need much resources except a Laptop/PC and a proper internet connection. The IT industry is getting better down there in south and that may also give you better opportunities.
