Hi,
The idea to crack Maths in JEE is to practice as many as problems as possible. More the variety, better it will be for JEE. This is one of the major reasons why Maths NCERT is not enough for JEE preparations. But it is very important to study maths from NCERT to get good marks in class 12th boards as most of the questions in CBSE boards come directly from NCERT textbook. Maths questions are more analytical and require time management and practice. Most of topics in JEE Maths syllabus go beyond the NCERT texts and hence to score good marks, it is much required to do Maths from other reference books. But once in a blue moon, questions do come directly from NCERT in JEE and hence, studying Maths NCERT is a must.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
