IITs allow its students to change branch on the basis of two criteria. Either the students can change their branch on the basis of CGPA at the end of 2nd Semester or they can apply for a different branch on the basis of their JEE Advanced Rank.

Eligibility for branch change at IITs:

The option for a branch/department/programme change is available to students after completing the first two semesters and before the start of the third semester.

But where would it be easier between IIT bhu and IIT dhanbad considering the policies and competition.(I may opt for mining)
