Although the salary package is not very great, the number of companies visiting the campus for placement definitely is. Last year the highest salary grabbed by Polymer Technology student was 3.2 lakhs per annum. But you see, over 150 companies came to recruit so if you develop skills and polish yourself well, you can surely grab a much higher offer by one of them. All the best :)
