Foreign Medical Graduates Examination or FMGE is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). FMGE assess the suitability of Indian nationals with a medical degree from any country outside India for practising medicine in India.

As of now, it's only compulsory for students coming from abroad. Because the students in India already go through the curriculum and examinations proposed by the MCI and deemed and universities.

Although there have been calls for compulsory exit exams for everyone, it hasn't been accepted right now.

So no, if you're an studying in India, you only need to pass your University exams.
