Academics and Placement: Its very hard to compare NITT and NITW. Actually they are very equal and similar is terms of Academics and Placement. 

However, As some of my friends are in both NITT Trichy and NIT Warangal , after talking to him I can say that NITT is slightly better than NITW in academics. But NITW is slightly better than NITT in placement.

Ragging: Both the campus are ragging free, but you can get some interaction with seniors but all that in under control. Its not too much, and i m sure you will enjoy it.

Food: If you a north Indian then choose NITW above NITT, because here you may get some problem of food. But if you love to learn other culture then you can come. 

To answer your question , we have to compare all NITs placements in the last 3 to 4 years. That's a long excercise.

Most of the NITs have placement cells which maintain a web page or link which you can find on the homepage of respective institute.

So I would suggest you to visit the same and compare. While doing try to identify institutes which have regular visitors.Sometimes some companies do prefer specific institutes while recruiting. These institutions are like homegrounds for these firms.Try to identify such companies then you can get a clear picture of every institute.

According to the latest nirf ranking ....Nit Trichy has got a higher rank than Nit Warangal.....so my opinion would be to choose NIT TRICHY environment engineering.......best of luck!
