Hello there,

With a JEE Main percentile of 96.349 and an EWS category rank of 7,791, securing admission to NIT Warangal for B.Tech in Civil Engineering may be challenging.

Key Insights:

  • JEE Main Percentile: A percentile of 96.349 corresponds to an approximate All India Rank (AIR) of 7,791.

  • NIT Warangal Cutoff Trends: In 2024, the closing rank for EWS candidates in Civil Engineering at NIT Warangal was between 4,338 and 4,943 .

Conclusion:

Based on the previous year's trends, your current rank may not meet the cutoff for Civil Engineering at NIT Warangal. However, cutoffs can vary annually due to factors like seat availability and applicant numbers. It's advisable to monitor the official JoSAA counseling rounds for the most accurate and updated information.

Recommendations:

  • Explore Other NITs: Consider applying to other NITs where the cutoff ranks for Civil Engineering might be more aligned with your current rank.

Hii,

VNIT CSE is a better choice if you enjoy computers, coding, and software because computer science offers more career opportunities and higher salaries overall. However, NIT Warangal ECE is also excellent if you have a preference for electronics, gadgets, or circuits—NIT Warangal is more well-known and ranked higher. Thus, make your decision based on your preferences. CSE at VNIT is a marginally better choice for employment and future advancement.

Hello Mr. Bini,

Considering your son's rank in JEE Main (3715 in General category, Maharashtra), here below is the categorization that might help you narrow down the options:

CSE in NIT Calicut (or Other NITs):

  • CSE is a very popular branch with lots of placement opportunities if your son is looking at top NITs like Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, and Calicut he won't go wrong with CSE.
  • If your son likes coding, software and tech then CSE in NIT is a great option.
  • The NITs that maintain a good CSE department and good placement are: Trichy, Warangal and Surathkal.

ECE in IIIT Hyderabad:

  • IIIT-Hyderabad is a good institute with excellent academic and research environment particularly for ECE and other related interdisciplinary streams, particularly in the area of AI/ML, VLSI.
  • The placement of IIIT-Hyderabad is excellent because other than IITs, IIIT-H students have the best placement options, particularly for research oriented/product based roles.
  • If your son likes a research driven curriculum and he may think of higher studies or work in tech heavy roles, IIIT-H ECE is arguably the best choice of all options.

ECE in NIT Warangal/Surathkal/Trichy/Rourkela:

  • These are very good NITs with good ECE department and strong industry partnerships.
  • The placement is good, but is not as strong compared to CSE branches or IIIT-Hyderabad ECE.

If the emphasis is on core tech roles and software engineering, get him a place in CSE at a top NIT (ideally Trichy, Warangal, or Surathkal). If there is a willingness to accept a comprehensive, research-based academic program, with future scope in core tech, AI or higher studies, then ECE at IIIT Hyderabad could be the best long term option. Do not opt for lower-tier NITs if you can get him into one of these higher tier institutes.

Yes, With a rank of 569 in the PWD OBC-NCL category, you have a promising chance of securing a seat in NIT Warangal, especially in branches like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical Engineering.

For the PWD Category, some of the branches offered:

Civil engineering: closing rank 755

Electrical and electronics: 314

Mechanical : 393

Chemical Engineering: 1303

Computer science and Engineering: 85

With a JEE Main score of 63 , securing a seat in core branches like CSE , EEE , or Mechanical at NIT Warangal is unlikely.

Possible Options:

  • Integrated M.Sc. Programs : Courses like Chemistry , Physics , or Mathematics may have higher closing ranks.

  • Other NITs or IIITs : Consider exploring institutes with lower closing ranks.

It's great you're aiming for NIT Warangal! With an SC category rank of 4104 and being a home state candidate from Telangana (assuming that's your home state since Warangal is located there), your chances of getting a Civil Engineering seat are very high and quite promising!

Here's why:

NIT Warangal has a home state (HS) quota , which reserves a significant number of seats for students from Telangana. This gives you a considerable advantage compared to students from other states.

Looking at the previous year's cutoff data for NIT Warangal , specifically for the SC category under the home state quota, the closing ranks for Civil Engineering have generally been well within your rank. For example, in 2024, the closing rank for SC home state candidates for Civil Engineering was significantly higher than your rank, indicating that a rank like yours would have easily secured a seat. Data from previous years also shows a similar trend.

Therefore, with your SC category rank of 4104 and home state advantage for NIT Warangal, you have a strong possibility, and in fact, a very likely chance of getting a Civil Engineering seat there through the JoSAA counseling process.

Make sure to participate actively in the JoSAA counseling, prioritize NIT Warangal with Civil Engineering as one of your choices, and keep an eye on the cutoff ranks released in each round. Your category rank combined with the home state quota should work very much in your favor. Congratulations in advance, and all the best for the counseling process!

With an OBC-NCL rank of 52023 in JEE Main, your chances of getting into NIT Warangal depend on the specific branch and whether you're looking at home state or all-India quota. While this rank is within the range where some programs might be accessible, competitive branches like Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering will be challenging to secure.

Based on the previous year's (2024) JoSAA cutoffs for NIT Warangal, having an All India Rank (AIR) of 43400 in the SC category makes it very difficult to secure a seat in most B.Tech programs .

Here's a breakdown of the closing ranks for the SC category (Other State quota) in the final rounds of JoSAA 2024 counseling for B.Tech programs at NIT Warangal:

  • Computer Science Engineering: 7127
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: 7127
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering: 7127
  • VLSI Design: 7127
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 7127
  • Mechanical Engineering: 7127
  • Chemical Engineering: 7127
  • Civil Engineering: 7127
  • Bio Technology: 7127
  • Metallurgical and Materials Engineering: 7127
  • Mathematics and Computing: 7127
  • B.Sc + M.Sc Physics: 7127
  • B.Sc + M.Sc Mathematics: 7127
  • B.Sc + M.Sc Chemistry: 7127

As you can see, the closing ranks for all B.Tech and integrated M.Sc. programs for the SC category (Other State) were significantly lower than your rank of 43400.

In conclusion, with an AIR of 43400 in the SC category, admission to NIT Warangal for B.Tech programs through the Other State quota is highly improbable based on the previous year's data. If you are from Telangana, there might be a very slim chance for less preferred branches under the Home State quota, but it's still challenging.

Hence, I would recommend you to go through the official JoSAA and CSAB websites for the 2025 cutoff data.

Participate in the JoSAA counseling process.

Consider other NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Explore the cutoffs for these institutes for the SC category to find potential options.

Hope This Helps !

hi ,

as of 2025 the NIT warangal does offer the B.arch  program .

the institute usually offers UG programs like B.tech and integrated MSc courses .for detailed information visit the official website of the institute .

hope this helps

Hello,

As of February 2025, NIT Warangal does not offer a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program.

The institute primarily provides engineering courses, with its flagship program being the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).

For students interested in pursuing a B.Arch degree, other National Institutes of Technology (NITs) such as NIT Trichy, NIT Calicut, and NIT Rourkela offer this program.

Admission to these B.Arch courses is typically based on performance in entrance exams like JEE Main Paper 2 or the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

Hope you find it useful !
