SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) Ramapuram campus was founded in 2004. SRMIST, previously known as SRM University, is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). SRM Ramapuram offers different undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in Engineering, Science and Humanities, Management, Architecture, Computer Application and Dental sciences.

The labs and classrooms are neat and airy, there is a central library hall, which is spread over 2 floors. The quality of the food available in the canteen is excellent. The hostel has air-conditioned rooms, and the hospital facility is available for 24 hours inside the college.
