For NEET seat reservations, State OBC certificates are valid only for state quota seats in your respective state’s medical colleges. However, if you want to claim OBC reservation under the All India Quota (AIQ) 15% seats, you must have an OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate recognized by the Central Government. If your caste is listed in the Central OBC list, you should update your certificate to a Central OBC-NCL certificate to avail of AIQ reservations in government medical colleges across India.

Hello,

State OBC reservation is only applicable for state quota (85%) seats in government medical colleges of that particular state.

  • For All India Quota (AIQ) (15%) , you need to have a Central OBC-NCL certificate issued as per central government norms.
  • If you belong to OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the central list, update your certificate to central OBC to avail AIQ reservation.
  • If your caste is not in the central OBC list , you can only claim reservation in your respective state quota.
  • Update your certificate before NEET counseling to avoid issues.

Hope you find it useful !
