Dear aspirant, being an nit SVNIT mechanical is more preferred by companies but a branch can only be judged on basis of internships which student got, placements & placement packages infrastructural support and etc. Talking about SVNIT Surat the mechanical being a core branch is preferred more. Placements in this branch also go the highest with an average of 6 LPA. The lowest offered was 4LPA and highest was10 LPA. Many companies such as NBC bearings , TCS et. visit campus for placements. Many companies also come for PPOs ( pre placement offers). In overall it's good but not all.
It can be rated 4/5.

SVNIT is good to persue mechanical engineering in terms of facility as well as placement.

As per last year data,SVNIT had 74.87% campus placement. Out of  208 students in mechanical branch 149 eligible students got placed.
The average package for mechanical branch was 5.70LPA.whereas the highest package was 10.10LPA.
