It depends on college to college and also the internet of the student about that particular branch. If we take an example of IITs you will get enough opportunities there in civil branch too.But yes generally speaking civil engineering placements are quite less.

Civil engineering has a good scope, but only if you do it from a good college like Iit kanpur or IIT kharagpur. Other iits are also good but you would get better opportunity if you have master degree as well with btech degree. On the basis of btech degree only you may not get some good package.
