COVID-19 has greatly impacted the entire world including India. The number of cases is increasing day by day and is greatly affecting the processes that were to be done in Unlock 1 and 2 like opening of schools, conduction of exams, etc. Many engineering exams have been already postponed or cancelled due to the prevailing conditions like JEE Main and JEE Advanced have been further postponed so now students are worried about KCET 2020 exam.

As per the latest updates regarding KCET 2020, the second chance of making corrections in the application form and change in exam centres ended on June 29. It started on June 26. As per the schedule, KCET 2020 will be conducted on July 30 and 31

Chances of postponement of KCET 2020

As the number of corona virus cases in the country are rapidly increasing, there are high chances of postponement of KCET 2020. If we talk about Karnataka, there are 38,843 confirmed cases at present out of which 22,746 are active cases. Also, state Health Minister B Sriramulu said that the number of cases in the state are expected to double in the coming 15-20 days. If it happens then travelling of students for the exam and appearing for it at exam centres can be very dangerous. It means it won’t be possible to conduct KCET 2020 as per the schedule on July 30 and 31 and it also strengthens the point the exam may get postponed further. However, the final decision on the postponement or cancellation of KCET 2020 will depend on the conditions due to COVID-19.

Can KCET 2020 get cancelled?

If we talk about the cancellation of KCET 2020, there are very less chances of cancellation of the exam. However, many exams have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation, so the possibility of cancellation of KCET 2020 cannot be denied. If KCET 2020 is cancelled like SRMJEEE , VITEEE , etc then the admission shall be based on the marks secured by the candidates in 2nd PUC/10+2 examinations.

According to the latest reports, KCET exam date has been postponed to  July 30, 2020, and July 31, 2020. The KCET 2020 examination will be conducted on these two days this month. KEA also allowed the candidates to change their preferred exam centres.
