Even if you study Weapon Engineering in abroad and wants to pursue your career in India there are only few opportunities that you can get into but they offer you a good package at the entry level itself.

In India we have two departments in Ministry of Defence that deals with weapons

• DRDO- Defence Research amd Development Organisation
• DDP- Department of Defence Production.

In DRDO they recruit candidates through their own examination or GATE.They design and develop weapons like artillery guns, rifles, machine guns, armoured combat vehicles, torpedoes etc

DDP deals with manufacturing of weapons.It has nothing to do with designing.In this we have Ordinance factories like BDL, BEML, HAL etc.
