If you want to drop this year then you can just leave the process and not proceed further. There is nothing to do for it .

but why you want to drop a year. if you want to prepare for some entrance exam and for best/top college then that is a best decision but you have to stick to it so that you won't feel bad that you wasted one year.

you should be confident and focus to get paid for dropping one year for better outcome.
