Definitely yes,if you had a certificate of EWS it will be  adding the extra points to your profile ,while counselling.

EWS rules placed under that student parents must possess less than 8 lakhs income per year .

Probably 10% of seats are given to EWS students and 27 % for obc students.

Sorry to say but there are no reservation for EWS category. Mentioned below is the reservation criteria in KCET for different categories:

• Rural candidates- 15%
• Kannada medium Candidates- 5%
• Jammu and Kashmir migrants- 1 seat in every engineering college
• Defence personnel of Karnataka origin- 10% seats in all engineering colleges
• Supernumerary category- 5%
