Admission to NITs consider the JEE Mains score. But it is not like an individual with a particular percentage will get a particular NIT. After JEE Mains score is published, you have to wait till call for JoSAA counselling comes. Once registration starts you have to register and fill your choice, that is institute and wait till allotment.

The JoSAA prepares a rank list using the JEE Mains marks of those who registered. Then for admission they releases cut-offs in the form of opening and closing ranks for each round of allotment for every course and institute. So it is your rank in JoSAA rank list that is considered rather than JEE Mains score or percentage, but it is of course high marks that give you best rank. NIT Trichy is one of the best NITs you will find in India, so to get there you cannot have ranks better than 100.

If you want to seat in Trichy through jee mains you have to get 98 percentile in Jeep mains means under 100 rank of jee mains.If this your dream then you have to prepare hard for jee mains then you will able to do it comfortably otherwise you can't achieve it.
