NEIGHRIMS is actually meant as North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences located in Shillong which is an autonomous government medical institute under the Health and Family Ministry.

It offers Undergraduate and MD courses as well for the students in different categories in the course span of 4.6 years for Bachelors or Undergraduate programme. The College has 85% of reservation criteria for Home State Candidates where the cut-off for ST Category was about 150 marks in the NEET-UG Exam.
