1. Physical chemistry - Basic principles and applications of quantum mechanics, Chemical kinetics, Basics of atomic structure, Electrolytic conductance, Thermodynamics, Surface Chemistry, Phase rule, Nuclear chemistry, Crystal structures, . Electrochemical cells, Photochemistry.

2. Inorganic Chemistry - Molecular Orbital Theory, Co-ordination chemistry, Chemistry of the main group elements and their compounds, Chemistry of transition elements and coordination compounds, Metals, semiconductors and Super conductors, Ionic Solids, Heterogenous and homogenous catalysis, Analytical chemistry, Bioinorganic chemistry.

3. Organic Chemistry - IUPAC nomenclature of organic compounds, Strength of organic acids and bases, Stereochemistry of disubstituted cyclohexane, Nucleophilic substitution at aliphatic carbon, Reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons and carbon oxygen double bond, Elimination reactions, Aromatic Electrophilic and Nucleophilic Substitution reactions, Carbanions and their reactions, Retrosynthetic analysis and applications, Rearrangement reactions, Spectroscopic methods in structure determination of organic compounds, Natural Products.

4. Biochemistry - Amino acids and proteins, Carbohydrates, Lipids, Hormones, Enzymes, Vitamins and Coenzymes, Cell Biochemistry, Biochemical techniques.
