If you are getting 40 marks in VITEEE exam, then your expected rank would be around 18000 to 23000 based on previous year data. Top 3000 rank will fetch you seat for sure. But as you get 40 marks out of 125, it is hard to get any branches, though you can expect mechanical, electronics branches.
