As I preferred to go private colleges as The NIT's having the last rounds according to your rank and category. As you got to private colleges you will have the chances of getting the best placements and more. Of course, in NITS but having lower chances.

Otherwise I am assuming to be a general category candidate. Your home state is Maharashtra that means you may get Nit Nagpur lower branches but this also depends on this year cutoff and for this you have to wait till spot round of counseling.
