As you have 1472 rank, you have all the chances of getting a seat in top colleges of karnataka which consider kcet exam. You wil get a seat in rv, ms ramaiah , bms or pes but not exactly the main branches if you belong to general category.  You can easily get into the top colleges for branches which take in your rank, so you might have to settle for the branch you get for 1472 in top colleges.. But if you have a specific branch in which you want to persue your engineering degree then you might very well get a seat in top 10 colleges. For example if you want cse in rv college then it is not possible with 1k rank but you would get other branches like civil, mechanical or other branches.  Good luck!
