The cut off is institute specific, branch specific, gender specific and category specific. The seat allotment is based on rank of the candidate, seat availability, cut off, category of the candidate and preferences of institute and branch. SO if you select the NITs for which you clear the cut off you will get seat in that particular NIT. So getting seat in an NIT with the given rank depends on the above mentioned factors.
