As you are saying that you have 8394 rank in JEE mains in St category. 

It looks like a good rank but this rank is not enough to get you a seat in svnit Surat. 

If you want to do integrated msc in mathematics or chemical then you might opt for svnit Surat , else you won't get a seat in it.

Then you should probably try for lower rank college. 

You can go to josaa website and see previous year closing rank of different colleges. You will get an idea which college will you get.
