Based upon the marks your son may not be eligible for admission under merit list cutoffs provided by the colleges.Now regarding your question admissions are under the 'b' category or management quota will involve paying twice or thrice the original fees and also admission is not guaranteed and is subject to availability of seats,since majority of the seats are occupied by the studets of general category,reserved categories,and also domicile candidates of a particular state.

He may drop this year and try out for next year.Rest of the decision is totally yours.
