Talking in terms of placements, NSIT is considered to be better than NIT. Companies like Facebook, Google hire students from this college. The faculty is also very good and help the students whenever difficulty arise. NSIT is also preferred by most of the students due to it's location. NSIT is considered to be among the top 5 institutes in terms of placements.

Talking about NIT, the infrastructure and labs are better than NSIT. There are also innovative projects that go on in this college. But, in terms of placements, there is no really good package for students.

Considering all these parameters, you can make a decision and choose a suitable college for yourself.

See, if you are getting NIT Trichy or NIT Warangal or NIT Surathkal than that is preferable over NSIT. But you should consider the branches that you are getting like if you are getting CSE in NSIT and getting Civil Engineering in top NITs that CSE in NSIT is preferable. But if you are getting like if you are getting Mechanical in NSIT and IT in top NITs then, NITs are good to go. Also, in other branches you will see a tight competition.
