Overall, the college is great and gives lots of opportunities to learn. Placements: Around 10 percent of the senior students of 2018 batch got placed in core chemical companies. Others got placement in non-core companies. Around 40 percent got placed in total.

The institute makes sure that a lot of opportunities are available to the students, it is up to them to make the most of it.
It also provides students with the opportunity to contact companies that they wish to see on campus, and it provides them with all the help needed to do that.

The research output by the faculty in peer reviewed standard journals have placed the School of Chemical Engineering among top 351-400 institutes globally. In India the Chemical Engineering stream is ranked 11th among all colleges offering the course and First among private institutes

Chemical engineering at vit vellore is above average. The ranking about a college is decided by its placements. The highest package offered was 7.5 LPA, whereas the lowest was 3.5 LPA in the last year. Top recruiting companies that visited the campus are Honeywell, Ecolab, Tata chemicals, Reliance Industries. You can even apply in IT companies after being a chemical engineering student.
