Coaching for IPMAT or in that case, any kind of entrance is must according to me. The reason is such that the experts over there have got many tips and tricks to help you out. Also, the entrance exams are such that you have to solve questions very quickly, the conventional ways of solving a question won't lead you to good scores. So opting for a good coaching class is a good decision. 

But just joining coaching won't lead you to good scores, daily practice, solving mocks papers, trying some tricks on your own all these also contribute equally to your final scores.

If you tell me your area of residence I may be able to suggest yo some good coaching classes for IPMAT.

it depends on person to person there are people who prepare by themselves and score good marks and vice versa. if you can study things by yourown then you can skip the coaching classes. if you need any kinds of attention from others for studying better to go for coaching.

Coaching will certainly be helpful in getting a professional guidance. However, only coaching won't help until you practise regularly and clear your fundamentals. Solving mock test papers or previous years' question papers is one of the best ideas to prepare for IPMAT exam. While solving the mock tests, make sure you get them analysed by a professional so that you get to know about your strong and weak areas.
