Look first thing first you can beacome software engineer anyway, doesn't matter whatever your score is. So dont worry about becoming software engineer. Now what you should focus on now is about the college from where you are going to pursue your career. So for that you can ask as much question as you want. 

Now coming to your JEE main rank. As you know the no. of applicants in this exam is too high and seats are very less. So you can either take admission in some govt college or you can take admission in private colleges. There are a lot of good options in private colleges ,such as VIT, SRM ,MANIPAL, KIIT.
