Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (SVNIT) was established in 1961 as one of the RECs for imparting technical education. It is an institute of national importance. It has been awarded the status of “Deemed University”. Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat has co-ed acceptance. But Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat  offers B.Tech, M.Sc, M.Tech and PhD programmes it does not offer B.Arch degree.
