As per the information if you get 97.7℅ then you will have a rank of around 20000 (approximately). The previous year's trend shows that the closing cut off rank for mechanical in SVNIT was approx 18,500 for 2018 while it was approx 17000 in 2017 for general category. If you belong to any other category, you will surely make it to your preferred branch at SVNIT.


So I guess even if you are from general category then also you can expect to crack this branch at SVNIT. The cut off will surely be close to your rank. Even if you can't make it in the normal rounds of counselling, you can go for special round counselling and I am sure you will make it. If you still don't choose to go for a special round, you can still get all other branches except Computer Science and Engineering at SVNIT.

Moreover, you have one more attempt left for JEE Mains in April. Work a little harder and improve your rank a bit. With a rank of around 15000-16000, you can always be 100 percent sure of making it to mechanical branch at SVNIT.

To get Mechanical in SVNIT Surat Gujarat you have to secure rank under 15-16  thousand. And for this you have to score 98.5 + percentile ( it is just a prediction).

But with present score 97.79 it will be not possible to get Mechanical because you approximately rank will be more than 20-22 thousand .

So prepare for the April exam and try to omprimp your score.

And you need put only some extra effort because according to your present percentile you can do a lot better just focus on your silly mistakes.
