As per the world ranking 2022 LPU has been ranked 10th amongst top universities of India in engineering subject.

The CSE course of LPU has been ranked 9th in computer science, amongst top universities of India by Times Higher Education.

Global tie-ups and MOU with top foreign universities for the scope of foreign studies and foreign placement. Ranked 2nd for OUTREACH AND INCLUSIVITY in all of INDIA. The network and tie-ups this university has is unthinkable. Being the Largest private university with accommodation and food facilities for staggering 20000 students in a single university is the talk of the town and corporate wants to get associated with the university as well.

Around 550+ companies visit every year for such activities and campus-recruitment of students from LPU. And this year for batch graduating in 2020, already more than 650 placement/internship drives have been conducted till February 2020 with leading industry giants (more than 90% being MNCs).

If you are considering both the universities then I would like to tell you about the placement and infrastructure of both the universities.

Placements:

The placements for CSE at Thapar are excellent. Companies like Deshaw, Microsoft, Amadeus Lab, Hikari, Hike, and many more visit regularly. Other departments also have decent placements.LPU is fairly new but companies like Honda, Amazon, Cognizant visit there.

Infrastructure :

In LPU all the classes are air-conditioned with a good teacher-student ratio. The entire campus is WiFi enabled and the residential facilities are also good. Students can either select air cooled or air-conditioned rooms which are affordable with 3 seater rooms starting at 56000 and AC rooms 66000. In Thapar University There are four tennis courts, one football cum race track, one cricket ground, two basketball courts, volleyball ground and one extra ground for those who can play anything in it. Academic buildings are also quite good.
