If the rank should be below 5k then leave that option. You won't get it anyway. You can try for other colleges. There will be other options too. Look for one whose selection criteria satisfies your rank  and you are also interested.

15K is not a bad rank. There are candidates who get rank above 80k and they land up in good private colleges. There are lots of colleges and you can go any one you feel suitable for you.

If you are worried that you will get placed or not  or if you will be able to make a good career or not.  Then that totally depends on you. If you will work hard then you will surely get success. It's a simple thing and have faith in it. College is not good or bad. It's good when students performs well and students performs well then they study with all efforts.
