If you are wholly wanting to get an IIT tag, then it is the best option for you at this point of time. And moreover, **IIT Kgp Mining Dept** is a very working and **established** department. The organization of its system is very good. The **placements** are very good nowadays, probably the** best **in the IITs. You will have the chance to study at the largest IIT in this country. Plus the **IIT Kgp tag**, which probably nothing in this world can match that. If you have any doubts for it, you can ask any of your local Kgp seniors as well.
And also, if you really want to change your course, you an do it later also. Get into IIT Kgp through Mining Engg **ticket** and later study hard and have a **CGPA** of **9 or 9.5 plus**, you will surely be able to change it the more respected courses, in your opinion and discretion. So, there is a chance of getting better courses in Kgp, if you dont want to pursue with Mining Engg in the future.
