PEC has more quality students, the seniors are helpful, there's no chance of ragging. Whereas, in nit ragging is there .

Packages of course is a field where PEC is far ahead.

If you from placements perspective, then Punjab engineering college is much better compared to Nit Hamirpur.

NIT or PEC : If you want to evaluate in terms of the brand value, than no doubts, NIT is a bigger brand that PEC. NIT Hamirpur has an awesome infrastructure and is ranked 2nd in terms of the beautiful campus. Apart from that it awesome living in Himachal Pradesh than in Chandigarh.

However if you compare PEC and NITH, then PEC has got better ranking and exposure(city exposure of Chandigarh) than NITH.

If you are pretty much passionate about studying CSE then NITH is a decent college and ofcourse brand NIT matters.

Had I been in that position to choose, I would have opted for ECE at PEC, considering better ranking of the college. Also lot of good MNCs visit at PEC for recruitment. I do not have much idea of the placements scenario of NITH, but being an NIT, it should be pretty much decent.

verdict:choose nit Hamirpur only if you are very much interested in computer programming else pec is a lot better than nit Hamirpur in terms of placement as well as reputation
