What is better?Nit jalandhar or Punjab engineering college?
Hi Aman,
NIT Jalandhar will fetch you the NIT tag and it is a respectable institute, where students from all across the nation come to study. It has a good infrastructure and the placements are great, especially for the CSE and ECE branches.
In case of PEC, it is situated at a better location, i.e. Chandigarh. Mostly students from neighbouring cities are the ones who study there. However, it is at par with NIT Jalandhar when it comes to placements, even the average package is almost same( between 6-7 lakhs per annum). The tuition fees is slightly more than NIT Jalandhar (Close to Rs.70k per sem)
The NIRF rankings are better for PEC than NIT Jalandhar. Both You may decide based on your priorities like course, location, future plans, fees etc .
All the best!

Hi Amen,
Since in recent years PEC is at downfall continually and NITJ is becoming better (not considering nirf ranking as according to it nit hamirpur is much better than NITJ which is not true is any field). The environment of PEC is much open which is a major drawback of NITJ and being in Chandigarh is always an advantage over NITJ.
But still overall NITJ is better as NIT is a brand and people from nearly each and every state and background came there but in PEC it do not happen.
I hope this helps.
No one will refuse to get an IIT or an Nit tag. But if you are comparing the Nit Jalandhar with Pec then i would suggest you to go with Pec. Reason is it's placements are really good and it's reputation is also good. My friend is also studying ther and right now is a intern in L&T. If you want an Nit tag then you can surely go for it. I hope this will help you.
All the best..!!
Hello Aman,
Aman both the colleges are good .They both of decent placements, good faculties .It depends on you as Choosing an NIT you will get its tag and it is mostly famous for CSE and ECE whereas PEC is also good college providing all the academic facilities.Infrastructure of NITJ is better than PEC.I hope it helped
hello aman
if you are from punjab then there is state quota in pec so you should definitely take cse there .
however if you are not from punjab or you are not getting cse there then you should opt for nit jalandhar,
pec is excellent college for cse and coding.
nit jalandhar is a descent nit and you can take branches like mechanical, electrical.civil, chemical based on your rank.
all the best
Hello aman,
I would have gone for NIT jalandhar. The placements and overall the brand value that NITs carry is commendable. It will also depend on how you spend your 4 yrs in the institute. Let not the place define you, but the other way around. All the best
