Biodiversity hotspots are the areas which are rich in biodiversity and are threatened at the same time. These areas need to be protected so that their rich biodiversity does not degrade.
India is considered a mega biodiversity hotspot because from western to Easter ghats, India has a large diversity of organisms which are found. Event If we see across north to south, we find ample of biodiversity rich regions. So, as a whole India hosts a wide variety of organisms. Western ghats are the mjor attraction and at high risk too.
