Environmental engineering is the branch of engineering that is concerned with protecting people from the effects of adverse environmental effects, such as pollution, as well as improving environmental quality. Environmental engineers work to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control, etc.

Following colleges in India provide courses in Environmental engineering.

  • IIT Bombay
  • IIT Madras
  • IIT Guwahati
  • College of Engineering, Pune
  • Lovely Professional University, Punjab
  • Manipal Institute of Technology

All of these universities provide Mtech, master in Environmental engineering as the environmental engineering is considered as a sub branch of  Civil or Chemical engineering.

You have to prepare for GATE exam after you are done with your btech in Civil or chemical engineering.

Salaries for environmental engineers varies from 40 to 50k in starting and then go up with experiences.

There is a good career in environmental engineering as the pollution is a global problem now and solutions are needed wordwide.
